Mahlangu back training at Helsingborgs IF after break
Mahlangu gets down to work in Sweden
----------------
South African born midfielder May Mahlangu started training with Swedish Allsvenskan club Helsingborgs IF today and says he is ready to continue where he left off last season.
Mahlangu achieved success with Helsingborgs where they won the Swedish Cup and ended runners-up in the League last season. The 21 year old midfielder also finished the season with a few goals under his belt.
Speaking to KickOff.com after his arrival in Sweden last night for pre-season training, Mahlangu said he was ready knuckle down and do the business for Helsingburg IF.
"It is nice being here after enjoying my holiday in South Africa with my family. It is very cold as it is still winter this side but I am here for a job and can't complain.
"The past season is over and now one must look forward to hard work and achieving further success this season.
"My contract stills has another 18 months to run and so must I must make use of this opportunity to ensure that I remain in Europe for a long time.
"The team has just re-assembled for the new season and we will be going to Portugal on January 29 for a month pre-season training before the League starts in March."
The Stars of Africa Academy product concedes that this season will be tougher for them after their success last season.
"The pressure will be on us this season to prove that our success last season was no fluke. We will be under pressure to keep our reputation and most of the teams will target us but we are determined to come back stronger this season."
Despite receiving accolades for his outstanding performance in Sweden last season, Mahlangu still has not spoken to Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane and Under-23 coach Ephraim Mashaba.
"At this moment my main focus is on building my career in Europe. Maybe a chance to play for Bafana Bafana will come in its time," says Mahlangu
